Directions & Dosage - Cal Hypo Pool Shock
Directions
Instructions for Pool Opening:
Adjusting pH Levels: Ensure the pH level of your pool water is between 7.2 and 7.6. Use a reliable pH meter to check and adjust as necessary.
Shock Treatment Procedure: Follow the guidelines for a "Shock Treatment" provided below.
Dispersion and Testing: After adding the shock treatment product, wait for 30 minutes to allow the product to fully disperse throughout the pool water. Then, use a pool test kit to measure the free available chlorine levels. Repeat the shock treatment if the chlorine level is not within the desired range.
Guidelines for Shock Treatment:
Routine Maintenance: Perform a shock treatment weekly, or more often if needed, to prevent issues with your pool. This involves adding between 9 to 18 ounces of the product for every 10,000 gallons of pool water, aiming for a chlorine level of 5 to 10 ppm (parts per million).
Addressing Pool Problems: If your pool shows signs of algae, experiences high usage, or after events like heavy rain or storms, additional shock treatments might be necessary. These treatments help in managing algae growth, unpleasant smells, and eye irritation. Always verify the chlorine levels post-treatment using an appropriate test kit.
Managing Algae Growth:
Initial Steps: Start by applying a "Shock Treatment" as detailed above. Focus on adding the product near the algae concentrations on the pool's sides or bottom.
Repeat Treatments: If the algae persist, it may be necessary to repeat the shock treatment.
Post-Treatment Care: To avoid stains or bleaching effects after treatment, promptly brush the algae off the pool surfaces, vacuum the pool, and cycle the water through the filter.
Preventive Measures: To keep algae at bay, regularly use an algaecide of your choice, adhering to the instructions on the algaecide product label.

Ingredients & MSDS - Refresh 68% Pool Shock
Calcium Hypochlorite: 68% | Other Ingredients: 32% | Available Chlorine: 65%
My pool turned a lovely shade of emerald! Superb against the terra cotta decking, blue sky, and green-tree surround.
My order of 50 lbs. was over a week late in arriving. This allowed the pool to go from blue to green. Impressive. I was told I would be given $20 for the late arrival. I haven’t seen it yet.
After several attempts trying to get Fed Ex, the shock was delivered. I’m sorry to say that the other item I ordered, Clear Blue, has never been delivered. I’ve had several emails to EZ Pool and it seems the company is making it difficult for me to get the missing item I have already paid for. I’ve had to take pictures of the item that was delivered and was never in dispute. I still don’t understand the reason for that. Fed Ex took a picture of the delivered item so EZ Pool could have gotten that picture.
I called EZ Pool and spoke with someone with a heavy accent and he assured me that I would receive a call immediately. Of course, I never received a phone call .
The last E mail from EZ Pool seemed as if my simple explanation about the missing item was hard to understand. I can’t say exactly without further investigation as to when this order was made but I can say it’s been long enough to have received the missing item or given a refund, which I have ask for and not received. I want a refund because I’ve had to purchase the item elsewhere. I’ll not be ordering from EZ Pool again because of the difficulty I e encountered. They Do Not have EZ customer service!
I had to give this a bad rating because I paid for 50# of shock but received 4 gallons of muriatic acid instead m. Which is at its a $64 purchase. The product was near a week late arriving and it was delivered to the wrong address… I think the delivery error was on fed ex, not EZ Pools because they had the correct address. Fortunately the business owner knew me!
I was offered a 3 day shipment of the correct product or a full refund, but my pool could not wait that long; so I opted for the full refund. 5 days later I’m still waiting for my refund and have had to make another $269 purchase elsewhere. Hopefully this refund will happen soon.
I swear by the refresh, had some issues on the delivery though but they made it right for me and sent me two 25# buckets from their store in Florida.Thank you EZ POOL.
This was an excellent purchase. The price was competitive and the shock came sooner than I anticipated.
I absolutely will be purchasing again. 10/10 experience!
I ordered 50lbs of shock in one container. What I got was two 25lb containers that were not 25lbs by weight. I will not be ordering from this place again.
Very poor experience with EZ Pools, not with the product (50lb bucket of pool shock), because I never received it. It was supposed to be delivered on 8/12/24, but FedEx lost it and instructed me to contact EZPools. I attempted to reach EZPools by emailing them via their website and through Facebook Messenger and by phone (left a message) and received no responses to any of these attempts. After calling them again on 8/16, I finally did speak with someone and he said he would send a replacement out the next day. I called late afternoon on 8/17 (Saturday) because I had not received a new tracking # and was told that they would ship it on Monday or I could get a refund. I choose the refund because I couldn't wait any longer for the product. When no refund was posted to my credit card after a few days, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. This was my first time buying a product from EZ Pools and I won't be back.
