Finding the Right Skimmer Basket
The fastest way to find the correct replacement is to look up your skimmer model number — it's usually stamped or molded into the inside wall of the skimmer body. Once you have it, matching a basket is straightforward. Hayward's most common in-ground skimmers — the SP1070, SP1082, and SP1091 series — each use a specific basket, and cross-compatibility between them is limited. The SPX1070E fits the SkimMaster line, the SPX1082CA fits the Auto-Skim SP1082, and so on. Pentair skimmers like the Sta-Rite U-3 and Bermuda series use their own basket dimensions as well.
If you don't have the skimmer model number, the next best approach is measuring your existing basket — diameter at the top, depth, and whether it has a handle. Most standard in-ground baskets fall into a handful of common sizes, and the handle style (center handle vs. no handle) is often a quick differentiator between compatible options.
