Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 21 reviews.

Works perfectly for the Dolphin Proteus DX5i pool cleaner. I was able to remove the old motor and drop the replacement in just a short time. The robot started working immediately after installation. The self-repair was actually very easy and a lot cheaper than taking it into the pool store. The robot has already completed several pool cleanings and I have seen no further issues.

Worked perfect. I had shopped all over the internet for a replacement with no luck. Also had to email Maytronics 3 times to get a reply, which was ship my unit back at my expense for "evaluation". EZ Pools responded to my query and recommended the updated replacement for my now obsolete (9 months old) Dolphin gearbox. Received it in 2 days, simple 15 minute install and works as new. Highly recommend EZ Pools.

So far so good with the motor replacement. I am really unhappy that my original motor had a seal failure at 2 years; $1800 in disappointment. The rebuilt motor was ~$500 and works so far. Same seal design, so my expectations are low. Seal failures are common on these motors. What a shame. The vacuum works great when it works. This company shipped the motor FAST—arrived 2 days early. It was packaged well.
